Here is a list of songs about anxiety:
“Last Hope” by Paramore
“And the blood in these veins isn’t pumping any less that it ever has, and that’s the hope I have, the only thing I know that’s keeping me alive.”
Noah Cyrus – Sadness
Noah opens up to use a lot in sadness “Sadness”, a song taken from her Good Cry EP. She starts the song with the lyrics “three years of therapy still hasn’t got me right. I still wake up crying on the floor. And I know I feel too much sometimes, is that so wrong?”
In My Blood – Shawn Mendes
Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood” is deeply emotional. On the song, Shawn sings about needing help and feeling like giving up. He also addresses feelings of loneliness and anxiety. “I’m looking through my phone again, feeling anxious. Afraid to be alone again, I hate this. I’m trying to find a way to chill, can’t breathe.”
“Medicine” by Daughter
This is a good song about anxiety that will allow you to feel like there is someone out there that relates.
“You’ve got a warm heart, you’ve got a beautiful brain but it’s disintegrating from all the medicine.”
Breathin’ – Ariana Grande
Much of Ariana’s “Breathin'” aptly conveys how stressful the process of overthinking can be. She sings lyrics like “feel my blood runnin’, swear the sky’s fallin’, I know that all this shit’s fabricated. Time goes by and I can’t control my mind.” Of course, the chorus is a reminder to “just keep breathing,” which can be a helpful mantra for some people during panic attacks and particularly stressful moments.
Happy & Sad – Kacey Musgraves
Kacey Musgraves’ Happy & Sad perfectly captures the emotional complexity of being a nervous pessimist by nature. On “Happy & Sad” she wonders if there’s a way to “stop all this thinkin'” and sings the lyrics “and I’m the kind of person who starts getting kinda nervous when I’m having the time of my life. Is there a word for the way that I’m feeling tonight? Happy and sad at the same time.”

If you find that you are constantly struggling with anxiety then you may have a deeper root of the cause of your issues which you may want to get a medical assessment for.
Mental issues affect over 1 in 4 of us so getting a medical assessment may not be the worst idea as there are several reasons why you may be feeling low. It could be that you have lost someone in your family or maybe you are getting bullied.
Whatever it is, you can work through it with the help of family, friends and even medical professionals!
If you continue to struggle with anxiety and the songs about anxiety don’t help you as much as you expect them too then you may want to seek further help. If you are under 18 then CAMHS, an NHS run programme may just be the answer for your mental health struggles.
You should look to see if you meet the CAMHS referral criteria and then fill in the CAMHS referral form.
